Frances Ridley Havergal’s Poems

Frances Ridley Havergal (December 14, 1836 – June 3, 1879) was an English religious poet and hymn writer. Her best-known hymns are Take My Life and Let it Be and Thy Life for Me. She was born in Astley, Warwickshire, where her father was an Anglican clergyman. She did not enjoy good health, and never married, but did manage to travel to Germany and Switzerland. She died of peritonitis in Wales at the age of 42.
