Proofreading
Proofreading is the final stage before your document is sent to a publisher, or printed for use. This is the last opportunity to correct anything that needs to be corrected. This crucial stage ensures that all your hard work is rewarded by the production of a high-quality, consistent, well-presented document.
- Has the author correctly represented the information?
- Are the spelling and grammar correct and consistent?
- Has the author adhered to the style guide?
- Are the numbering systems (pages, tables, figures, etc.) all correct?
- Are the graphics all present? Do they show the correct information?
- Do all the cross-references point to the right place?
- Do the index entries point to the correct pages?
- Is the appropriate copyright or legal information present?
